Who We Are
DesiKilimanjaro
Being of Indian ancestry, I am often asked by friends and family abroad how best to travel in Kilimanjaro and where to visit. It came to my attention that there is a lack of online resources for the independent Desi traveller and that many choose instead to join part of an organized tour or package holiday arranged by an international agent at unreasonable prices. This group is primarily for anyone planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and are looking for people to join in a group or form a group of their own according to the individuals group preferences in order to keep the overall Kilimanjaro climb costs down (This can include but is not limited to cost sharing for tipping, transfers, etc.). In turn, Desi Kilimanjaro will connect the climbers and form groups in the hopes of obtaining the Kilimanjaro climb service contract. Please Note: Private climbs are available for parties of any size, who want to climb certain route variations and want to be with only friends or family in the group. Welcome to our guide and travel planner for the independent Desi traveller. It’s based on years of experience organizing adventure tours in the region, and of course putting together our own personal itineraries with Desi touch, which tourists rarely come across due to lack of local knowledge. With Desi Kilimanjaro facilitating worldwide Desi connections, we offer open group Kilimanjaro climbs and ALSO Tanzania wildlife safaris, for solo travellers, pairs or couples, ensuring individualized attention, flexibility, and safety. Please feel free to share your stories, photos, and travel tips as we inspire each other to embark on unforgettable journeys across Tanzania. With our excursions we maintain a Desi approach, where each corner maintains tales of India's essence.
