Package Inclusions

Our climb packages include the following:

  • Accommodation: A night before & after the climb (B&B), but also comfortable tents with sleeping mats for the duration of the climb.

  • Meals: Nutritious meals prepared by our experienced chefs (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks).

  • Professional Guides: Certified, English-speaking guides with extensive Kilimanjaro experience.

  • Porters: Porters to carry your main luggage and gear.

  • Park Fees: All national park entry fees, camping fees, and rescue fees.

  • Safety Equipment: Comprehensive first aid kit, pulse oximeters, and emergency oxygen.

  • Pre-Climb Briefing: Detailed briefing and equipment check before the climb.

  • Transfers: Round-trip airport transfers and transportation to and from Kilimanjaro National Park.

Package Exclusions

The following are not included in our climb packages:

  • International Flights: Flights to and from Tanzania or Local Flights.

  • Travel Insurance: Comprehensive travel insurance is required but not provided.

  • Personal Gear: Personal hiking gear such as boots, clothing, sleeping bags and other gears.

  • Obligatory Tipping: Tips for guides, porters, and cook (US$600.00 per climber).

  • Extra Services: Optional services such as extra nights at the hotel, private toilet tent or personal porter.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

To book your climb with DesiKilimanjaro:

  1. Initial Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total climb cost is required to secure your booking.

  2. Payment Schedule: The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to your departure date or paid in cash with US$ bills minted after 2008. We accept payments via bank transfer, credit card, or Mobile Banking.

  3. Booking Confirmation: Upon receipt of your deposit, you will receive a booking confirmation and detailed trip information.

 

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation terms are as follows:

  • More than 60 days before departure: Loss of deposit (20% of total climb cost).

  • 30 to 60 days before departure: 50% of the total climb cost will be refunded.

  • Less than 30 days before departure: No refund will be issued.

 

In case of unforeseen circumstances, we recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover any potential cancellations.

EA Resident Climb Rates

The East African Resident Rates for Mount Kilimanjaro provide discounted rates for residents of the East African Community (EAC), which includes Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan. These special rates reduce park fees and related costs, making the climb more accessible to local adventurers.

To qualify for these rates, climbers must present proof of residence, such as a passport, ID card, or resident permit from one of the EAC member states. These discounts encourage local participation and foster a deeper connection to the region's natural heritage. DesiKilimanjaro is proud to offer these rates, ensuring that the adventure of scaling Africa's highest peak is within reach for more East Africans.
